I first heard about cord blood storage from a good friend of mine, who had been reading about cord blood storage and regretted that when her daughter was born this service was not available in Malta. When I first heard about Smart Cells Malta, and learnt more about storing our baby's cord blood and its uses I felt that it was important to store our baby's cord blood. It seemed incredible and such a pity to think that every day cords and placentas containing these valuable stem cells are thrown away - cells which have the potential to heal not only the baby itself but even other members of the family.
We decided to store our daughter's cord blood - first of all because we felt we don't know what the future holds for us (hopefully good health but who knows?), secondly because we felt it was a waste to throw away something as precious as our baby's stem cells and last but not least because we felt it was an investment for the future of our daughter and our family, an investment more precious than money.
The service we received from Smart Cells Malta was very professional. We were given a lot of information and material to read, even a video of the collection procedure. We felt that our questions were answered truthfully and that the company was not simply after our money but were genuinely interested in providing us with all the information we required. The service during the pregnancy, birth and even after, up till this very moment has been excellent and I am always pleased to be in contact with the positive, helpful and enthusiastic team at Smart Cells (Malta). I have also attended events organised by Smart Cells including the mother-and-baby club and a sling demonstration all of which were professionally organised.
I always recommend Smart Cells Malta to my expectant friends not only because of the importance of cord blood storage but because the company is one of a kind in Malta.
